Altitude 2016 Day Four

Altitude Festival January 2016

Kicking off Thursday in true Altitude style, the improv kings Steve Frost, Andy Smart, Ian Coppinger and Andre Vincent tickled the crowd with their usual nutty antics! Seriously, we just can’t get enough of these guys!

Then was the Gala Show at the Europahaus, hosted by Matt Reed aka Forrest Gump after he’s been running for a long time and he warmed up the crowd with hilarious anecdotes and general bantz. He introduced the first act, Joel Dommett who proceeded to tell the tale of when he tracked down a girl he saw on a train once, and expertly wrapped apart the idea of winter holidays, even though he’s an avid snowboarder and had won the Clow Hill Race the previous day. The crowd responded with delight.

Next up was Sofie Hagen, who’s original style of comedy was a joy to watch. Talking of her model friends and her own views on society, she was endearing and hilarious.

The interval made way for Daniel Sloss, with parents in tow (in the crowd) who recalled the stupidity of religion and Americans with guns with witty true stories.

Then it was time for the Gala headliner, and Sean Lock didn’t disappoint. He did a set rich in top notch comedy and high jinx, focusing on his bucket list (or what he likes to call it: his f*ck it list!) Perhaps the biggest roars of the week so far were heard from the Europahaus, Andrew Maxwell was weeping in the crowd.

The Late Night Show was filled with belly laugh moments, including when Daniel Sloss and Kai Humphries took it in turns to take jabs at each other, including the potential relationship between Kai and Daniel’s parents. LOL. Amy Howerska, Andre Vincent, Michael Mittermeier, Alfie Brown and Phil Nichol rounded off a day that was full of non-stop bangers.

See you tomorrow for John Bishop!
