MyZillertal.app which you can check out HERE

3.1 Book Trains

Check out Snow Carbon if you want to reduce your carbon footprint and travel by train

Eurostar from St Pancras

The train journey from London to the Austrian Tirol involved three enjoyable legs: Eurostar to Brussels, ICE or Thalys from Brussels to Cologne and then NightJet sleeper train to Tirol. It's not the quickest journey option, nor the most direct, and we wouldn't suggest that if it's your first time going skiing by train you do this first; but if you love train travel to the Alps then it will be great - and you could try it one way or both ways.

3. Book flights

Innsbruck, Austria is the closest airport
Or you can fly to Munich, Germany and arrange a transfer to Mayrhofen

Here are the 2022 flight prices as a guide:

London to Innsbruck, Austria (currently showing between £127-309 return)
Manchester to Innsbruck, Austria (currently showing between £137-277 return)
Dublin to Innsbruck, Austria (currently showing between £177-302)
Edinburgh to Innsbruck, Austria (currently showing between £167-405)

Or London to Munich, Germany (currently between £86-400 return)
Manchester to Munich, Germany (currently between £120-197 return)
Dublin to Munich, Germany (currently between £82-116 return)
Edinburgh to Munich, Germany (currently showing between £149-182)

4. Book your transfer to Mayrhofen
*check if your hotel offers a transfer service*

From Innsbruck, you can either:
get a train to Mayrhofen - (1hr 12, from €14)
Or
Get a taxi (1hr - €120 or so, divided by a group of 4 people about €30)
Or
Get a bus (involves a change from airport, 2hr 58, €11 euros)
Or
try Christophorus for their transfers = https://www.christophorus.at direct to Mayrhofen

From Munich, you could either:
Book a train Munich to Mayrhofen (2hr 45, from €19.90 if you book in advance or usually €40+ euros if not)
or
Book a bus from Munich to Mayrhofen (3.5hrs, around €50)
This involves you getting a train first then changing to the bus.

5. Mountain access

Ski passes are available to purchase on the day from the bottom of the two main ski lifts - the Penken or the Ahorn.

Pricing and info here

None of the shows are up the mountain so you don’t have to head up the mountain if you don’t ski or board - but it’s super fun even for a day to visit the amazing bars!
If you're looking to head up to experience the amazing views, food and bars, then purchase a cheaper pedestrian pass instead (often referred to as a walkers pass).

6. Ski & Snowboard Equipment Hire

This is available in resort and does not need to be arranged in advance - we recommend hiring your ski / snowboard equipment from family run business Sportswegscheider, found opposite the Strass Hotel in the centre of Mayrhofen.

Visit their website for up to date pricing: Sportswegscheider
