Comedy

The core of Altitude is its comedy line up. Festival goers of 2009 were impressed with the line up of French speaking and English speaking comics from all around the world. From Canada we had the pleasure of Craig Campbell, Australia, (and 2008 Edinburgh award winner) Brendon Burns, from USA Dave Fulton, from Germany Henning When, from England TV’s Phil Jupitus, Jenny Eclaire, Marcus Brigstocke, Lee Mack. From Ireland we had the pleasure of seeing Ed Byrne and Andrew Maxwell, and flown in especially from Iran was Omid Djalili! On the French side Christophe Aléveque headlined, with Phil Darwin.

2010 will feature a brand new line up showcasing the best talent from Europe, mixing up styles of improv, stand up, satire, sketch and physical comedy. We will once again feature bilingual comedy shows to create that very special entente cordiale in the Alps!

Interesting fact - Our 2008 comic award count was truly impressive. 7 perrier/if winners and nominees (the highest award in stand up) 4 Chortles awards, 2 British comedy award nominations, 2 British comedy award nominees, 2 Baftas, 1 Emmy and C4’s King of comedy - so when we say award winning comedy we mean it!
