Rachel Parris


Rachel Parris is making her debut at Altitude this year & we’re giddier than a mountain goat to have her! Rachel an award-winning musical comedian, actress and improviser. Her songs have been played on BBC Radio 4 and BBC 6 Music, and she has enjoyed three highly successful solo Edinburgh runs. Rachel was named The Independent’s One To Watch 2014, and was nominated for a Chortle award.

As an improviser, she has performed with The Comedy Store Players, The Oxford Imps, The Beau Zeaux, Scenes From Communal Living and The Bishop, as well as guesting with Grand Theft Impro and at The PIT and the Magnet in New York. She has appeared on Channel 4’s The IT Crowd and in BBC Three’s Murder in Successville, and presented Thronecast on Sky Atlantic. She also hosts the popular Throneroom podcast.

TV regular and Altitude favourite Terry Alderton is returning to Mayrhofen for #altitudefestival19, to baffle your brains and make you laugh your ski-socks off!

Over an incredible comedy career, he’s been nominated for the coveted Perrier award in Edinburgh and won both the 3 Weeks Critics award and Best International Act at the New Zealand Comedy Festival. Terry has toured the world, including Melbourne, New Zealand, India and Edinburgh’ Comedy Festivals. He frequently performs alongside comedy’s biggest stars. Michael McIntyre found Terry a source of inspiration. Joan Rivers became an instant fan and Eddie Izzard proclaimed him to be a ‘very funny comic with a fantastic comedy mind’, but also ‘someone who ought to seek some sort of professional help’.

Compared to some of the comics on our line up, Emmanuel has only been on the comedy circuit for five minutes – but he’s already garnered himself a reputation as “THE one to watch out for”

Ex-bouncer Emmanuel extracts most of his hilarious interactions with the vibrant cockneys and reprobates he’s encountered in East London, the pranks he’s played on his kids & his awful parenting skills.

A regular performer at numerous high profile shows including “The Best In Stand up” at The Comedy Store, Glee Club, Comedy Loft, Manfords, The International Comedy Festival Rotterdam, Altitude Comedy Festival at The Ski Show, plus regular shows in Ibiza, Cyprus, Turkey and Holland. He has even headlined the Bestival comedy tent (by accident)

Praised by the Evening Standard as “the heir to Rik Mayall’s throne”, livewire Naz will inject you with some of his endless abundance of energy after a long day on the slopes ❄⛄

Naz is the star of BBC’s Flat TV, Horrible Histories and Comedy Central’s Drunk History, is an actor, writer and comedian. Regularly a face on our screens, Naz has appeared on Live at the Electric(BBC Three), Russell Howard’s Good News (BBC3) and Horrible Histories(CBBC) as a core cast member in the 7th series. He’s also acted in Drunk History (Comedy Central), Plebs (ITV2) and Bull (UKTV Gold) to name a few!

After making his debut at Altitude Christmas in 2016, Gareth Waugh & his snowboard are back for Altitude 2019 – and we can’t wait! Described by the BBC as “One of the fastest rising stars of the Scottish comedy circuit”, Gareth is a two-time Scottish Comedian of the Year finalist and winner of Radio Forth’s Big Comedy Audition. Gareth has toured with artists including Kathryn Ryan, Iain Stirling, Jamali Maddix, Tom Stade, and Daniel Sloss, and regularly performs at clubs & festivals around the world.

Once known as one of the youngest comedian’s on the circuit, Elliot has made a name for himself with his hilarious and gritty real-life tales of growing up on a South London and a confidence and stage presence beyond his years.

His Comedy Central Roast Battle saw Elliot and his dad Mark Steel go head-to-head to roast each other with the most brutal jokes imaginable. His Comedy Store clip went viral earning over 2 million views & he even received a nomination for his debut show at Dave’s Leicester Comedy Festival. Elliot is also regularly abused for his aherm, ‘questionable’ levels of intelligence by fellow comedians Daniel Sloss & Kai Humphries on their popular podcast ‘Sloss & Humphries on the Road’.

We wouldn’t be surprised if the next act on our line up actually owned parts of the ski resort…it’s the poshest man in comedy, Tom Houghton!
Tom was raised amongst the height of the British Upper Class, attended boarding school from 6 years old, his father is the ex-professional head of the entire UK Armed forces, he currently resides in The Tower of London, his dad has just been made a Lord and Tom is now ‘The Honourable’… so naturally, a career in comedy beckoned! Funny and charming, with roguish tales and hilarious songs, Tom Houghton is star on the rise.
An accomplished and playful performer, Tom frequently shares line-ups with the likes of Michael McIntyre, John Bishop, Jason Manford and Jack Whitehall, amongst others and has supported Daniel Sloss and Justin Moorhouse on tour.

The deliciously charismatic JoJo performs in comedy clubs worldwide, & is in as much demand for her compere abilities as she is for her comedy routines.

After keeping both our audiences & our clowns in stitches throughout all of #altitude16xmas, Barry Castagnola is back for #altitudefestival19!

Having conquered Kilimanjaro with Rhod Gilbert on BBC1 in the achingly funny ‘Rhod Gilbert VS Kilimanjaro’, it seems he’s becoming a bloomin’ mountain addict! Barry’ll be joining us on the slopes with a sleigh full of anecdotes and his hilarious trademark style of political commentary. Festival veteran Barry has made sides split internationally in New York, Ireland, Melbourne, Edinburgh, Glastonbury, on BBC1’s The Stand-Up Show and more.

Ryan is a regular performer at many of Ireland’s most prestigious comedy venues, such as The International Comedy Club and the Roisin Dubh, and is also a festival favourite having performed performed a sold out run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and on stages at Longitude, Electric Picnic and many more. With a viral youtube channel & having recently supported Jackass’ Steve-O, we can’t wait for Ryan to make the mountains of Mayrhofen a little bit blacker with his dark humour.
